Competition
The Queensland Little Athletics Summer season typically runs from September through to March with a break during the Christmas/New Year Period. For the 2022-23 season Aspley Little Athletics will commence competition on Saturday 3rd September with the season ending on Friday 10th March.
At Aspley, our season is divided into pre-Christmas Saturday morning meets and post-New Year Friday night competitions. This has been structured to take advantage of the cooler evening conditions during the warmer January/February months.
Meets are split into Junior (Under 6s – Under 8s) and Senior (Under 9s – Under 17s) competitions. Timetables are as follows:

The success of our competitions is dependent upon the participation of our parents and caregivers. We require 3 parent volunteers for each age group (boys and girls) for events to be conducted. What better way to contribute to your child’s athletics experience? Give it a go! More information outlining parents’ roles can be found here .
If you're new to athletics or you feel like you need to brush up on your knowledge of technique, here is a video from Little Athletics Australia that steps you through the various events offered and what to do as a volunteer when you're helping out.
