About Aspley Athletics
Aspley Athletics Club was formed by Aspley Little Athletics in 2001 and was incorporated on 7th August 2002. The club is affiliated with Queensland Athletics (QA), Kedron-Wavell Services Club (KWSC) and Aspley Little Athletics Centre (ALAC), and was formed to offer athletes a natural progression from junior to senior athletics and to retain participants within the sport. Aspley Athletics offers athletes a structured training approach and competition within the same caring and supportive atmosphere as that of ALAC.
Mitchell Heskett and Greg Heskett will be coaching our QA athletes, as well as our registered ALAC athletes - who are 10 years old and above - at Bowden Park on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.00pm each week, during Winter and 7.00pm during the Summer athletics season. This coaching will be focused on sprints, middle distance and jumps. Where required, arrangements can be made to provide coaching after 7.00pm for older athletes who can’t make the earlier session due to work/study or other commitments. These coaching arrangements will continue through summer on Mondays and Wednesdays for all QA athletes.
High jump training is also offered on Sunday afternoons 3.30pm - 4.30pm.
Registered Little Athletes from Under 13 to Under 15 age groups are eligible for dual membership with QA and access to QA competitions. The fees for this membership are minimal and are posted on the Queensland Athletics web page. The link to the page is (http://qldathletics.org.au/Membership/Membership-Information).
Aspley Athletics and ALAC will actively encourage little athletes to join Aspley Athletics Club and compete in QA events. Our goal is to boost the membership of the Club and enter as many individuals and teams as possible in QA competitions including state relays and championship events.
QA and Queensland Little Athletics have sanctioned our Saturday morning/ Friday night competitions and also the Kedron-Wavell Services Club Pentathlon and our QA Athletes are welcome to compete.
Use the Queensland Athletics Online Registration Portal to join Aspley Athletics or to renew your membership.
